Astrobotic Technology, Inc. is at the forefront of advancing space exploration and technology development. Our expertise spans from lunar rovers, landers, and infrastructure to spacecraft navigation, machine vision, and computing systems for in-space robotic applications. To date, the company has been contracted for two lunar missions, and has won more than 60 NASA, DoD, and commercial technology contracts worth more than $600 million.     

Astrobotic is seeking a Director of People to provide strategic and tactical support to our employee experience and people operations. As a key member of our senior leadership team reporting directly to the CEO, you will drive our people strategy and foster a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.

This role requires a versatile, adaptable leader who can thrive in our fast-paced environment, create and implement policies, and pivot strategies as needed to support our changing business needs. The ideal candidate will be excited by the opportunity to implement programs and policies to support our growing organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and HR Operations:

  • Partner with executives to develop and execute a comprehensive People Strategy
  • Design and oversee all HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and employee relations
  • Lead change management initiatives and drive process improvements across HR functions
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making at all levels
  • Manage the HR budget, implementing cost-saving measures without compromising on quality

Team and Culture Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing HR team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Champion Astrobotic’s permission to play values and spearhead initiatives to enhance employee experience and engagement
  • Develop and implement strategies for diversity, equity, and inclusion

Compliance and Innovation:

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and stay abreast of HR trends and best practices
  • Develop innovative approaches to talent management and HR challenges

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with 5+ years in senior leadership
  • Experience scaling HR functions in fast-growing, startup environments
  • Strong knowledge of all HR functions and demonstrated success in strategic HR initiatives
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
  • Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity and rapid change
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and the candidates professional experience.  Base salary is just one component of Astrobotic’s competitive total rewards strategy.
